70s/80s era Nantucket woven wicker basket purse by Barlow, a family run company based out of Rhode Island that is still in business today.

The bag features a seashell on top of an Ivorite oval scrimshaw with a delicate drawing of flowers. The drawing is on Ivorite and mounted on a wooden oval. There is also a wood oval inside the top and the bottom is also wood. In the style of the original lightship baskets this bag is lined with a navy blue floral cotton fabric and is very clean inside. It is signed Barlow on the bottom.

Excellent vintage condition. There is some general patina and surface wear commensurate with age.
